Do I need a referral to see an Orthodontist?
Hi, I’m Dr. Mark Knoefel from Oasis Orthodontics, where smiles come to life.
The other day, I had a mom asking me, “So I’m really not happy with my smile and I was wondering, do I need a referral from my family dentist to come and see you?” She was surprised to hear that, no, she actually does not need a referral. In fact, we are the only dental specialty that does not require a referral from the family dentist.
Unlike, for example, the oral surgeon or the periodontist or the root canal specialistic, like the endodontist. So in those situations, yeah, you need to be referred by your family dentist, but you do not need to be referred to your orthodontist. You can just call us directly here at (780) 457-5566 and set up your consultation. It’s as easy as that.
