Hi, I’m Dr. Mark Knoefel from Oasis Orthodontics where smiles come to life.
A parent asked me, “Well, I’m curious. My dentist referred me to such and such an office. Do I actually have to go there?” And it was a perfectly valid question because again, in medicine, that’s what happens. When your family physician sends you off to that particular ENT specialist, that’s where you have to go. There is just no choice. But with orthodontics, that’s not the case. You may have been referred to a particular office, but your friend or colleague would have said to you, “Hey, I had a fantastic experience over at Oasis. You know what? You should really go over.”
There is absolutely no reason why you can’t do that. You might want to let your dentist know where you’re going to be going. Of course, I would correspond with the family dentist anyway, and they would know that you’re coming to see us. But bear in mind, you do not have to go and see that particular specialist. The choice is yours. I really encourage you to check out our YouTube videos on typically asked questions, frequently asked questions about orthodontics. And until next time, see you then.
Send us a note and we will answer it when we release new videos.
